In Paper-I and Paper-II for General Engineering, you have to
attempt only the part which is as per the option given in the application form
filled by you. For, if you are appearing for the post of Junior
Engineer (Civil) or Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts),
you have to attempt Part-A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I
and Paper-II whereas if you have applied for the post of Junior
Engineer (Electrical), you are required to attempt Part-B
(Electrical). Similarly, if you are appearing for the post of Junior
Engineer (Mechanical), you have to attempt Part-C (Mechanical) of
Paper-I and Paper-II. Remember, if you attempt any part other than the one
filled in the application form, your candidature will be rejected.
- You
already know that Paper-I consists of 200 objective
type, Multiple Choice Questions only. You will be
awarded 1 mark for each correct answer. For your
convenience, the questions will be set both in English &
Hindi.
- There
will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for
each wrong answer in Paper-I. Therefore, you should keep this in mind
while answering the questions.
- Your
marks in Paper-I will be normalized by using the formula
published by the Commission and such normalized scores will be used to
determine final merit and cut-off marks.
- You
are allowed to appear for the Paper-II exam only if you score marks
greater than or equal to cut-off marks.
- Paper-II
is a descriptive type written examination, carrying 300 marks.
You need to write Paper-II either in Hindi or English. Never write the
paper part in Hindi and part in English as you will be awarded zero marks.
- Write
all the essential details like your Roll Number and Subject carefully at
the prescribed places on the Answer Book. If you fail to do so, your
Answer Book will not be evaluated.
- Never,
I repeat, never write any of your personal identity e.g. name, roll
number, mobile number, address, etc inside the Answer Book. You may be
charged with the offense of using unfair means in the
examination hall if you do so.
- You
can use your own Slide–Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Table, and Steam Table
for Paper-II. However, you are not allowed to use such aids in Paper-I.
After Paper-II, a final result will be declared by combining
the marks obtained in both Paper-I and Paper-II. Further, all the qualified
candidates will be called for Document Verification. You need to appear
for Document Verification along with the photocopies and
original documents. Moreover, you should carry your recent color photographs
and one original valid Photo ID Proof. At the time of Document Verification,
you will be asked to submit your preferences for various posts
and Departments. After this stage, a list of selected candidates will be published
on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission. Later on, these
selected candidates are given joining letters and in this way, the SSC JE
recruitment is concluded.
